About the Role

The three core objectives of the Senior Consultant role are to:

  • engage, scope, and deliver commercial intelligence to customers by leveraging industry and customer specific knowledge and Arbo’s extensive regulatory, legal, and market data acquisition system and software platforms.
  • build and maintain thought leadership in industry and public foras to generate awareness for Arbo and educate prospective customers and stakeholders on opportunities to better harness data to operate, develop, and utilize energy transportation infrastructure.
  • build and expand Arbo practice areas by matching customer needs to Arbo capabilities, improving and implementing process(es) to support scaling the services offering, and assisting in recruiting and leading the team.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • authoring content, such as whitepapers and case studies to aid in thought leadership, customer development, and demand generation.
  • maintaining and building a network of industry professionals and other thought leaders in the energy business and policy space.
  • creating and growing customer relationships and discovering their needs to help integrate Arbo software, data, and services into their workflows for energy transportation and commerce.
  • collaborating with marketing on ideation, development and execution of account-based content marketing campaigns.
  • establishing and reporting on objectives and key results (OKRs) for accounts.

About You

You can:

  • lead consulting engagements from ideation through analysis, delivery and feedback.
    structure and analyze data and communicate inferences and conclusions, with the ability to tie them together into cogent verbal and written viewpoints that resonate with commercial customers.
  • Understand statistics and probability based decision making in a business context.
  • Manage projects and teams to requirements, deadlines and budgets utilizing multiple software tools, attention to detail, and team influence and leadership.
  • Drive innovation by fostering new ideas, obtaining market and customer feedback, and participating in data and consulting product development.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales to develop and communicate product value propositions in multiple mediums.

You have:

  • deep knowledge of energy markets and commodities at the macro and firm level with a focus on commercial operations in regulated sectors.
  • understanding and experience analyzing federal and state legal, regulatory and policy processes related to energy infrastructure development and operations.
  • knowledge and interest in the evolution of traditional energy infrastructure to low carbon as part of the overall energy transition.
  • developed followership in an area of expertise within industry groups, traditional and / or social media. 
    business acumen developed from experience in commercial organizations.
  • a leadership point of view and desire to mentor, teach, and lead people.
  • a pattern of achievement and track record for measuring and achieving results.  
  • At least 4-6 years relevant experience (RE)

  • Understanding and practice working with analytics and/or business intelligence software products either as producer or consumer/user.
  • B.S or B.A in relevant field and advanced degree preferred.

Location & Work Environment

The position is eligible for a flexible “hybrid” full time work schedule. Preferred locations are Washington, D.C. or Houston, TX.

The position requires the ability to effectively work and collaborate in a remote environment by utilizing a variety of widely used productivity information technology tools (such as Google Docs and Slack) and communicating effectively verbally and in writing, both one-on-one, and in team settings. Occasional domestic travel can be expected (15%), to meet customers and teammates.
