Pipeline GHG Emissions

What’s the issue?

INGAA has set a net-zero carbon emissions goal for the operations of its members’ pipelines and storage fields by 2050.

Why does it matter?

The goal is one that can be fairly easily monitored because EPA regulations require the largest emitters of greenhouse gases, the compressor stations used across the industry, to report annually on their emissions.

What’s our view?

Based on the reported emissions for some of the largest companies, achieving this net-zero carbon emissions goal will not be a simple task, as the emissions have not changed much over the last seven years, at least for the stations that have reported their results in each of those years.
